How Does Your Garden Grow Activities

PLANTING THYME ACTIVITY: Kids plant a baby pumpkin seed in a pot, while discovering the basics of plant growth. We assist the kids in the seed planting process while giving them a brief, age-appropriate lesson on what plants need to grow and thrive. Plus, the seed and pot is theirs to take home or back to the classroom to watch grow!

GARDEN THYME ACTIVITY: A tour of our vegetable patch with Farmer Mike! Kids have the opportunity to view cole crops and early summer crops in various stages of growth. Farmer Mike will escort the class through the garden rows, allowing the kids to view the growing vegetable plants, while sharing a few simple facts about How A Garden Grows. And depending on the week of your visit, kids may get to plant or harvest produce, too! (We encourage teacher participation! Teachers are welcome to use these two activities to bring up points about their own individual curriculum to their students.)

MUSIC, MAGIC AND FUN ACTIVITY: A scheduled magician or clown will perform throughout the morning on stage in our entertainment pavilion. Acts run approximately every 30 minutes from 9:30-11:30 so everyone has a chance to join in the fun! In the unlikely event our entertainers are unable to perform on a particular day, the field trip cost will be reduced to $4 per child.

PLAY THYME: Let the kids unwind in our Lil’ Tykes Play Area, featuring our Purple Dinosaur Bounce House, Lil’ Tykes Wood Maze, John Deere Trikes, Swings & Haybale Slide.

PICNICS: Classes can bring their own lunch or snack. We have several comfortable shady places for kids to eat, including our Outdoor Dining Pavilion or Entertainment Pavilion which will be available after the shows.

BONFIRE COOKOUTS: Enjoy an old fashioned weenie roast, with chips, s'mores and all
the fixin’s at one of our private bonfire sites for only $2.00 per person! When you register for a bonfire cookout we provide all food, wood, skewers, condiments, etc., except drinks. This activity and cost is in addition to the $5 kid's activity price. (8-person minimum)
